is that it dispels the misconception — especially among the self-loathing faction of our fan base — that a coach's recruiting struggles can only be explained by something inherent to Mizzou.
For example, the events of 2015 became a popular scapegoat for many of the chicken littles who post here. And then you have the sadsacks who claim that MU is "cursed" or "poor" or "has bad fans" — none of which are true.
Our budget is about to crack the Top 25 nationally (with the latest SEC windfall included), and elite conferences like the SEC and BigTen never would have considered adding Mizzou if its fan base weren't impressive. I would rank our fans in the top 30, and that's despite constant missteps by our AD and a number of heartbreaking & demoralizing losses over the years. Fortunately, Drink is bringing back some much needed energy to Mizzou Nation.
