schools are broken. When polled a significant majority say our educational system does not work. But when asked to rate their local schools it allways comes back with about 70% saying they are effective or better. How is this possible?
Do our schools not work or is there something else at play here?
SMSD has long been recognized as a very good school district, literally across the road in some places is KCSD one of the worst. How is this possible?
Do we really have a problem with our educational system or is the problem in the communities where some of those schools are located?
I am a strong supporter of private and charter schools, they are a great option for some families. But if you eliminate public schools and have the same expectations for whatever replaces them do you expect different results?
