slasher drive to the basket player some guys think he can be. He couldn't be that player in the Sun Belt or Horizon League let alone the SEC.

People rip Mark Smith but he was just doing what the coaching staff wanted, not settling for jump shots. But Mark doesn't have the athletic skillset to finish at the rim against SEC athlete's, that's why he looked so foolish doing some of the things he did. But the reality of it is that's on Cuonzo for putting him in those situations.

What's so frustrating is the exact things Cuonzo wants Mark Smith and Watson to do are the things Mario McKinney excelled at. But because Cuonzo's too much like Norm and stubborn about playing the young guys, Mario ends up transferring and now you're stuck looking to find the things you already had if you'd just given him playing time.
