the Briles heavy system relies on two things:

1) WR's that can win one-on-one on vertical choice routes
2) a QB that can make vertical throws consistently

We had both of those with Lock, Moore, Hall and Johnson (at least vs. mediocre teams)

The offense relies on tempo as an equalizer vs. good teams and a separator vs. bad teams. When it's not clicking, it's brutal as you'll be punting the ball back to them and 15 seconds are gone off of the clock.
