I do know if you use a mortgage on rental property (or even a vacation home), the mortgage is likely written differently, and has different loan to value requirements vs a primary residence. I know I moved a townhome from a primary residence to rental....I did not notify the mortgage company...maybe I should have..since I was in good standing with the loan and maintained that, I doubt they really cared anyways....but maybe if some guy wanted to be a dick at the company, they might have said something.
