Notice how, in 2020, Nebraska's program is still consistently ranked in the top 10 by media/sportswriters.
Exactly as I said: "Wisconsin top 20 at best, Nebraska easily top 10."
Why? Compare their program's accomplishments...
Nebraska has five (5) national titles (including 3 in the past 25 years). They had an NC game appearance as recently as 2001. They have 46 conference titles.
By comparison, Wisconsin has ZERO (0) national titles. They have never even *reached* the national title game. And they have just 14 conference titles.
That means Wisconsin has fewer conference titles than Mizzou (14 vs. 15), and the same number of national titles/title game appearances (0). In fact, you could argue that Mizzou has been closer to reaching the national title game in recent years (2007, 2013) than Wisconsin has. Mizzou also has a more legitimate national title claim (1960) than Wisconsin does in its history.
With that said, Wisconsin's program (as of 2020) is superior to ours, but nowhere close to Nebraska's.
