most drugs take years just to get through the pipeline before they're deemed safe and approved. and there's huge profit incentive to get them through quickly, so it's not like it's just bureaucratic foot-dragging.

getting a safe treatment to a brand new disease through all the proper testing hurdles in just a few short months is absolutely impossible without cutting a LOT of corners and accepting a LOT of risk.

no thanks. i'll take the 0.04% chance of getting the sniffles for a few days.
