Mizzou thought the Big 10 was some kind of glorified Ivy League when it came to sports. When they found out that Michigan and Michigan State and others were letting in non-qualifiers and had whole systems of curriculum for keeping them eligible- they were shocked. They had already made their own football program a national laughingstock by applying regular and ever rising admission standards to their athletes and eliminating a lot of curriculum they could survive in. The whole thing was a farce
