nuclear energy.

If we truly want to transition from fossil fuels the intelligent approach would nuclear energy with support from renewables. Nuclear would give you the on demand and reliability you need while renewables could be developed and improved to pick up the slack.

Despite what many believe nuclear plants do not blow up and when built and maintained correctly they do not melt down either.
