will always underwhelm and fail to realize its potential. Because in reality having a certain combination of skill sets is always more desirable.
The first version of a team you listed:
PG - SG - SG - SG - PF
Is essentially our 2011-12 team. Which succeeded in large part because of their tightly defined roles and positions.
A dominant center would not be just as effective today, it would be more effective. Its just that one doesn't exist. But a team possessing that player would be more effective than teams that did not possess him.
