just blaming the folks involved in the incident. It should help that they are all gone. We do appear to have solid leadership at President and AD. It was a perfect storm which created crucial opportunities for men in leadership to confront and handle issues. They all failed, but the University now is more the institution you desire than ever before. They are fully aware that they serve Missourians, and liberal polititicizing will not stand at the expense of the people. They know now that student athletes should never have the power to wash away any persons career. On both sides the University is a better place than before, it's indeed a shame that we had to go through this to get there. But why hold such a ridiculous grudge? It happened because the times we live in, and an entitled faculty that brought the institution to its knees. I doubt that Fans and alumni had half the outrage towards Penn St after their leadership let them down in a way more horrific way years ago.....no the people came forward and supported the institution because it was seriously in trouble. How about Michigan St? How will they react to their scandal?
You see the problem is our fans and our state citizens who continuously demonstrate embarrassing skepticism at every turn whether it's a big game, or recruit choosing us. It's the same skepticism that turns to ugly resentment and needless grudging when idealistic kids were duped by a 26 yr old charlatan. The actors in this tragedy are all gone, what still remains are the columns, campus buildings we all went to class in, and the downtown we all fell in love with.
