and I haven’t been back to Columbia since 2015. It hasn’t helped me recover to see all the trash talking cockiness on the field by guys that can’t beat anybody of note. It also hasn’t helped with what I consider the general disdain some at Mizzou seem to feel for the State of Missouri and the people who live in it (see the words of that dude in the Med school who helped them get sued by the lady who is suing them for disagreeing with their racial politics).
Mizzou owes me nothing and visa versa. I care enough to google Mizzou everyday to see what is going on and I still watch games but more as a critic than a supporter. Granted, MU stinking at football & MBB since 2015 doesn’t help MU recover or make fans. I do like some of the recent changes (I feel generally the leadership is trying to make MU more a servant to the State of Missouri) but 2015 made me feel unwelcome, unappreciated and broke my heart. At the end of the day, MU killed my interest in devoting time attending games, giving money and traveling to Columbia. I’m sure someday I will attend a game and be back in Columbia but it is going to have to be others to pick up my slack. Age is taking a bite out of caring as much too.
