I don't disagree with this:

"I don't mind paying taxes to help out some poor schmucks who are down on their luck or that feed or clothe poor children. I have done OK in my life and don't begrudge a portion of those blessings going to others."


I do disagree with the notion that "gross inequities" are something the government should seek to level.
