For instance, if you are talking about the life circumstances of black people in general vs white people in general and the relative ease or difficulty of traversing through life and achieving a typical middle class or better status in life I think the answer is that in general black people have a far more difficult path in life.
If you are looking at things from the perspective of the relative paths of black people vs white people coming from the same socioeconomic background, schools and family structure, I think the answer would likely be quite different.
For instance, in certain situations the black student and white student with the same academic background, test scores etc. applying to the same colleges, I think the black student would have a decided advantage. Similarly, black graduates would have a decided advantage for most jobs vs white students with the same background and resume.
