I'm not saying what they 'will" do because I don't know. As far as the league goes I said I don't think they can "do no worst than 11-7" this year. I understand from year to year that will change. Last year 10-8 got a team in. Prior years 11-7 didn't. So who knows?
I included the tournament game because that will be played. So though it's part of the SEC tournament it's going to count against your record and possibly your tournament chance every year
But bigger picture, I guess it comes down to where you want to place emphasis. I personally would be fine with averaging 23 wins of 31 regular season games a year. As long as you make the tournament ( which I think you would) and don't consistently have first game flame outs. Certainly there may be years you win more or less. Also years where you may be in contention to win the league and/or conference tournament would be very welcomed. However, I've seen that and then go nowhere in the tournament. That's just no fun for me. So what I want to see is NCAA Tournament success, which would be playing second weekend way more often then not regardless the record.
