If I recall correctly,
1. Sheriff Joe was found guilty of not obeying a Federal District Court Judge's order to stop the Sheriff's Department conducting immigration "drag net" patrols.
2. Sheriff Joe did not contest that the patrols were not stopped.
3. Sheriff Joe argued that the order was not a valid order because patrols were not illegal and therefore he had no duty to abide by it.
4. Sheriff Joe was charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt.
5. Sheriff Joe was found guilty of misdemeanor criminal contempt.
So, Sheriff Joe did admit to not stopping the patrols, but he did not admit to committing a crime. He did not admit that he was guilty.
