How could the defense possibly be any better in 2017?

There has been no change in coordinator, and we lost a bunch of key players from last year.

Seems unrealistic to believe the defense could be improved to any great extent. Seems more likely the defense could be as bad or even worse than last year.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
