1. Each of the Power 5 conference winners is an automatic qualifier, making the regular season meaningful.

2. 3 at large teams would ensure a Boise State, Notre Dame or other outlier team has A chance.

3. Power 5 conference championship game losers might still qualify if they are ranked high enough.

4. 8 teams present a manageable number of games. Maximum 16 game season to win the championship is reasonable. Any more games would stress teams.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
