& didn't get hammered for it.

I've actually had clients who had received a cancellation letter from a homeowners company because their roofs were too old (& were therefore very susceptible to hail damage). Before the policies cancelled, however, a big hailstorm hit and their roofs were totalled.

The insurance company paid for new roofs and then rescinded the cancellations because... now they had new roofs, and they even got a discount for the new roofs.
