She was given a reasonable request to get in the car and close the door....

Why do you suspect the cop asked her to do that? A 'god complex' or because he was trained to do that for his safety?

Why didn't she do that?

Would the situation (likely) have escalated had she followed the reasonable directions from the cop? Or would she have just received her speeding ticket and been on her way?
