We may disagree with one side, or both, but in wars both side see themselves as rightous. It is easy, and short sighted, to always see the country who was invaded as the one in the right. In almost every case the aggressing country sees themselves as righting some perceived wrong. The terms to end WWI led to Germany starting WWII to correct those 'wrongs'. Putin sees this war as Russia reclaiming ethnic Russian territory. We can disagree with those views but they seem valid to those who hold them.
