Germany and various other European nations that have moved in a significant way to renewables?

Why are so many renewable projects being abandoned, such as windmill farms in Mexico & others out at sea?

Why wouldn't countries be jumping all over the clear win/win situation of cheaper energy and less polution? US states certainly have that option, but we aren't seeing numbers showing lower energy rates in states or countries that have transitioned the most to renewables.

In fact, some of those are apparently moving back towards nuclear instead.
