That premise is very much in dispute.

Different studies and different articles come to very different conclusions on that topic.

I'm no expert & haven't spent the many hours/days/weeks/months to delve deeply into that topic, which changes fairly significantly over time as new advancements & geopolitical realities themselves continue to change and evolve.

But we see that Europe started transitioning to renewables, as the article states, and yet I've seen multiple articles about manufacturers in Germany & other European nations screaming about how much their electricity costs have jumped, and that because of that they are becoming less competitive in the global markets.

That doesn't sound to me like a strong endorsement of the idea that renewables are CHEAPER than the coal, gas & nuclear plants they are closing.
