Much ado about nothing. Every league will have autonomy to do as they see fit, including working together where it may make sense. Want an invitational hoops tourney? Easy. Want to have a playoff partnership for football and other sports? Easy. Want to do your own thing? Easy. TV is too content starved so “lessor” leagues will still have access to TV money. The fact that the SEC realizes this is not a revelation. Some leagues will make more money but there will be money to be made in a lot of leagues as TV looks to build live sports brands.
