Nowhere did Jesus refuse to bless or commune with any "sinners". He also did not ever, in any teachings that I know of, tell followers to condemn anyone, refuse to spread the gospel to anyone, refuse communion to anyone, etc. His anger was generally directed towrds the overly pious hierarchy. He said to love your neighbor as yourself. Love your enemies. "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" is a geat example of his teaching. He did not want us to judge poeple. Judging the action is fine. People get confused with Francis' refusal to condemn people. He wasn't blessing the action if it was a sin, but he was against refusing communion or grace or blessings to soemone who had sinned, because then he would have to refuse it to everyone.
