normal for me to take some of my players home after games. One set of sisters lived somewhere around 39th & Van Brunt, they would not let me go into their neighborhood. I always dropped them off at the Dairy on the corner and they walked the last few blocks.

They told me it wasn't safe for a white man to be seen driving with a couple of black girls in their neighborhood. They were probably correct.
