I agree on a few things, but not all. Rates shoueld nto be above market rates. That is crazy. I don't think it is treated like free money. I think almost everyone understands what a loan is, and that it needs to be paid back. I'm ok with forgiveness in some circumstances (military service, maybe going into certain professions like teaching). But just because some peopel don't do the work to finish their degree, that is not on anyone but themself. I somewhat agree about major or earnings potential. No way should the govt give someone $200k in loans to be a classical civilization major. Not sure how to administer that issue though.
