model that requires winning a division to reach the playoff.

For example, compare your SEC "west" and "NE" divisions:

WEST
• Texas A&M
• Texas
• Oklahoma
• Arkansas
• Missouri

NE
• North Carolina
• South Carolina
• Clemson
• Virginia
• Kentucky


(2) The conference scheduling format of "play divisional opponents annually, and all other opponents once every 4 years" would never gain acceptance. Too many rivals wouldn't play often enough.


(3) The model relegates too many schools to irrelevance.


It's unrealistic.
