All 18 seasons since the Quin era, from highest to lowest Kenpom ranking...

So, half of the 16 seasons between Quin and Gates (2007-2022) were better than Gates' first season (2023). And if you exclude the Kim Anderson outliers, his first season ranks in the bottom half. However, it was our luckiest season according to the Kenpom "luck" metric (and was our luckiest NCAA Tournament draw, as well).
