The old generation hated Astroturf because it was too hard.
The current generation hates Fieldturf because it's too soft.

I'm not sure these younger guys realize just how bad grass can be in some places. I would prefer all fields to be grass and in the pros, they have the resources to invest in maintaining better grass these days. But I'm not totally against modern turf. I do believe it requires more maintenance than they advertise and it's life cycle is shorter than they claim. I also know that the last 20 years has produced some hybrid grasses that are more durable than what we had back in the day.

Anybody with a clue could see the StL turf was a problem the moment the broadcast started.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
