of experienced transfers that team would have been better. He just wasn't cold blooded enough to run those kids off.

What Gates is doing is great short term but I wonder whether long term he might have to adjust his strategy. A recent thread referenced an article stating 40% of players who entered the portal didn't end up with a scholarship and only 18% of second time transfers were ruled immediately eligible by the NCAA. I could see how a coach known for running off players could over time become a guy players are reluctant to want to play for.
