the team went 12-21 and finished 12th in the SEC with a 5-13 record.

In Kobe's senior season, team goes 25-10 - and finishes 4th in SEC with 11-7 record.

So the only reason the team won in Kobe's senior season was due to Kobe. Nothing to do with the coaching of Gates and the transfers he brought into the program.

Forget what happened Kobe's junior season - that doesn't count.
