I gave most of the credit to Kobe himself for working on his game and Gates and his staff some credit, especially for having a more dynamic offense that showcased his skills.

If Cuonzo had continued as coach and brought in the same level of transfers like he did the year before, run the same stagnant offense and averaged 58 points a game, does Kobe get picked in the first round? Extremely doubtful.

Other coaches, along with Kobe's work ethic, could have had the same effect on Kobe's game, but I doubt the effect would have been as large under Cuonzo.
