Then it didn't happen in games under Cuonzo but it did under Gates. Hmmmm.

Kobe's ability to show he could thrive in a free flowing offense under Gates helped his NBA stock compared to having to shoulder so much of the load for an undertalented team in the stagnant offense of Cuouzo.
