Every SEC borders at least one other SEC school. Big XII taking WV or B1G taking Maryland or Rutgers ended the regionality.

As for your other claim, how can you blame the SEC taking two schools from the Big XII for the collapse of an entirely different conference. B1G didn’t need USC or UCLA and that’s what killed the PAC 12. Now, It may have been able to be saved even after that, but the Big XII taking Colorado set off the rest of the events.
