The Big 12 had its new TV deal and was stable. It didn’t need to grow, but it saw an opportunity to destroy a rival conference and, with a big helping hand from the Big Ten and incompetence from Pac 12 leadership, it did so.

Greg Sankey is far down the list of villains in this one.
