Put up a wall. At 40+ teams, they can.
This situation goes beyond who is the best traditional power in football, it becomes about sealing off population bases and it becomes about how many are left behind as much or more so than the perceived quality of who is left behind.
If it worked the way some people here are suggesting, then about 6 schools would break off and do their own thing and claim that nobody else matters because we are the six best schools. But it can’t work that way, there is a need for numbers.
