Every group, whether the Friday afternoon happy hour or the nation, has its own culture. That culture determines the group’s behavior to some, usually a large extent.
The State of Missouri has its culture, as do a lot of groups within it or involved with it.
So so Tiger football is acceptable to these groups and as long as it is, Tiger football will be so so.
In St. Louis the Baseball Cardinals are the most important thing to the St Louis sports culture. In KC it’s the Chiefs.
The bottom line is in Missouri whether the Tigers are good, bad or indifferent is essentially meaningless to too many folks to generate the level of support required to be a “player” in SEC football.
