Sounds like you're in the "every "good" person (and I guess there is a definitive definition for being "good") but every "good" person gets to go to heaven, regardless of if they accept Christ as their Savior - they should be let in and forgiven. Again zounami, Jesus and the Bible are clear - zounami and I don't get to arbitrarily make the rules - God who spoke the world into existence makes the rules. Whether you agree with the rationale or not. And there is no other way to the Father - than through the Son - that is why people who say they have plenty of time to accept Christ don't really know if they have plenty of time - they could have a heart attack or be in a car accident tomorrow. If everyone was allowed to have a change of heart in the afterlife, everyone would be in heaven - because hell is such a horrific place (chapter 16 of "Imagine Heaven" details experiences of atheists who had a near death experience and experienced hell - one guy was a tenured professor at Northern Kentucky who was an atheist - and when he was resuscitated, left his tenured professorship behind and became a pastor). God is not asking for much - Jesus did the heavy lifting (death on the cross and horrible abuse prior to crucifixion, which is horrible enough in its own right.
Just curious. You seem to have pretty definitive views on what the Bible says and what it should say. I'm not being sarcastic - just asking the question - have you ever read any of the 66 books of the Bible? You seem to have a strong opinion on what the Bible teaches - if you have read some of the books of the Bible, which ones?
If you haven't, I would encourage you to read one of the gospels (again, if you never have) - and I would recommend the gospel of Luke. Luke is a meticulous doctor (I'll explain why I say he is "meticulous" in a bit) who is detail driven and writes very well. Luke also wrote the book of Acts, in which much of what he writes is eyewitness testimony (he refers to "we" when describing some of the events of Paul's ministry and miracles he performed).
Luke, in his book of Luke, names 11 historically confirmed leaders at the time in the 1st 3 chapters of Luke. He's inviting people to test his accuracy by naming names in his letters.
And in the book of Acts, he details 84 historically confirmed details relative to local politicians, local topography, local business practices, the correct depth of water 44 miles off the shore of Malta....and even atheists agree - he bats 84 for 84 - gets them all right.
Why would a doctor who was so detail driven and wrote so beautifully and name names and show such accuracy in reporting 84 different facts...make up 35 miracles that he details that he personally saw Paul perform in the book of Acts. And why would he make up something that could get him tortured and killed (almost all of the disciples died horrible deaths because of their testimony of Christ rising from the grave).
I guess it would be nice if we could draw out for God how He is supposed to operate - and for sure, God is not always politically correct - but He doesn't allow us the option of not confessing our sins and not putting our faith in Jesus Christ in this lifetime. That isn't an option, as much as we would like for Him to make it an option and for Him to make it as easy as possible to get into heaven. We are required to do something to get to heaven - again, easy lifting - accept him as Savior - as Jesus has already done the heavy lifting - dying a horrible death on the cross - for all of us.
