It's called endorsements. A dealership in St. Paul can tell his agent, "you stay here, will give you $2M to do a couple commercials." Pro players take that stuff into account all the time. And don't think the teams aren't telling their agents the same thing.
That's exactly what NIL is, or is supposed to be. And there's really nothing that can be done about it unless Congress passes a law to give an anti-trust exemption to college sports, which they don't really want. The Supreme Court says that colleges, and by extension, the NCAA can't restrict any student or anybody else's ability to make money. It's as American as apple pie to go for getting as much dough as you can.
