(excluding Kim Anderson since he wasn't a serious hire)...

• Mike Anderson (18-12) - Kenpom #63
• Frank Haith (30-5) - Kenpom #7
• Cuonzo Martin (20-13) - Kenpom #40
• Dennis Gates (22-8) - Kenpom #52

So, Gates has done fairly well against the weak SoS we've had this season. Not as competitive as Cuonzo or Haith's first-year teams, but pretty close to Mike Anderson's.

Edit/Note: The geriatric D-2 coach we inexplicably hired in 2014 went 9-23 his first year, with a Kenpom ranking of #192. Here's some context to understand how historically bad that #192-ranked Kim Anderson team was...

2014-2015 final Kenpom rankings
[...]
187. Saint Peter's
188. American University
189. New Hampshire
190. Florida Gulf Coast
191. Norfolk State University
192. Missouri
193. Lafayette College
194. Santa Clara
195. Charleston Southern
196. Sacramento State
197. UT-Arlington
