What will it take for businesses and donors to pull back on paying unproven kids these large sums of money to basically go to school. I can see NIL shifting in the coming years to keep your good talent on the team or steal it once they've proven themselves. Taking risks on HS kids that may not adjust well in college is a HUGE gamble.
So, that kid in the article was 1.8M to sign and 750k a year. That's 1.2M a year if averaged out x 85 = 102M per year for roster expenses. That's a heck of a lot. Let's say 1/2 get that and the other half only get half that. That's still 77M a year for your roster.
Seems unrealistic to be able to keep that level of payments going to the roster.
