they had the weakest Dem party ever to go against, a horrible economy which punishes the party in power, and they likely barely drip into running the House and Senate.

They had zero plan. Even anything half like Newt's plan would have been enough to get a surge. They let the media control thee narrative of the 2020 election and abortion issues.

As far as Desantis, be careful on two fronts. First, Jeb was nearly as popular in Florida and that did not translate over. Second, if Trump announces now, he will attack Desantis first and hard (he has already done that). This will be a major distraction for Desantis, who I am sure wants to be governor for a year first. i am also not sure his social agenda plays as well nationally.

A few things they should do. Declare abortion a State's issue and promise to keep it out of the House and the Senate. Apologize for their reckless spending under Trump and bring back some fiscal discipline. Move the War on Drugs also to the state level.
