didn't pan out and an NIL third party who pulled the funding.
Or an NIL third party that runs out of money and can't fund the contract. Or the kid exceeds all expectations and demands a new deal, and now.
Or a kid that doesn't play cuz he gets hurt or, even better, commits a crime or does some off-field bull****.
Love to see those contracts and how it plays out. The possible scenarios are endless.
Here's another: an NIL "third party" goes broke cuz a bunch of operators were basically con-men, and athletes get stiffed, and they sue, and because the NIL is basically a dry-hole, they bring in the University with deep pockets on the theory they were third party beneficiaries of the contract and are liable for the NIL's debts, since the NIL contract secured the player's performance for good ole state U.
I couldn't be happier for college sports, truly.
