Stanford, Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, etc) have athletics... it's a tremendous marketing vehicle for the school.

Maybe what you're suggesting will happen some day, but Mizzou should be one of the last to give up its sports programs, certainly not the first.

We're luckier than most fans realize to be in the SEC, especially with Texas & Oklahoma joining soon. The playing field will be leveled eventually, I'm extremely confident about that. It's just a matter of time & patience.
