you can care that both are considered. The children get victim's help and the persons who assaulted them get caught, tried and punished if found guilty.

It's then a different thing altogether for that trial to be fair and the rights of the accused to receive a fair trial. If the system works properly, the authorities will present evidence and they will be found guilty and punished. Caring about that process doesn't mean that you don't care about the victim.
