want the program to take the next step.
Norm took us from obscurity to being a perennial national power. But he could never get us over the top.
We hired Duke's Golden boy to take that next step. Unfortunately he was not mature enough at that time to succeed.
Next was an up and comer with a unique style and a good pedigree. He was successful but it became obvious that the ceiling for his style was short of the championships we were all hoping for.
Haith was a desperation hire that actually worked out better than any fan hoped it would. But the way he ran the program left a bad taste in your mouth and no one was too sad to see him go,
Kim was a shot at Norm 2.0 and an attempt to appease the blue hairs that write the big checks. He was an unmitigated disaster.
Martin was a class act that had some tires to the area and was supposed to rebuild ties to STL and bring the city back into the fold. The problem was that he had never been anything but mediocre and we were betting that he would blossom at Mizzou. He didn't, he is the same coach he has been his entire career.
Yes many fans are nostalgic for coaches that we may have been hard on at the time. Our program is currently irrelevant and while all those other coaches had flaws or program was always relevant under their watches.
