fouls beget fouls. Once you have the reputation for careless fouls, you are going to get called for careless calls. I think Tilmon worked hard to change that reputation in his last couple of years. I do not think the conference targeted him. I think the referees that called SEC games were just aware of his propensity to commit fouls and had what was essentially a confirmation bias towards him.
