I think perspective is important

In summer/fall 2020, we recruited and then signed this freshman class of 5 freshman to replace 6 seniors. Then Axle left in the summer and we chose to leave his spot vacant. We were hoping a sub .500 team losing Nikki and only adding Wilmore would miraculously turn into a bubble tournament team. If we somehow made the tourney we were looking at a rebuild with 5 freshman, plus Braun, Wilmore, Watson, Pickett, Chang, and Brown with 2 spots to be filled since Pinson was expected to leave. So we have gone from HOPING a sub .500 group makes a miraculous tourney run before a massive rebuild around 5 freshman to having realized the tournament goal and getting to supplement the freshman with better talent than the guys riding the end of our bench. While we are not assured to make the tourney with our new roster, we are in much much much better shape than we were projected to be just 8-9 months ago both for the 2021 season and beyond. Oh and the vacant Acke spot allowed Durugordon to enroll early.
