I use the phrase impulsive ignorant fools to characterize many Maga types. They tend to be hotheads.

That is characteristic of an emotion based style of decision making. Some self describe as "going with their gut" reaction.

The emotional style of decision making has a higher error rate than the alternative critical analysis style.

The emotional style does produce brain chemistry affects that are apparently addictive for some. As an arch type I would point to road rage. Someone getting so worked up over some minor event with a stranger that they do something that is pointlessly destructive to their own interests. (and in those examples I do approve of the use of the word stupid. Shooting a stranger over getting cut off in traffic is stupid.)
